Why is JazzNhouse special?
A JazzNhouse concert has three, key elements
Safety and Security
Your home address is never made public by JazzN.ca!
Only guests who reserve seating and pay ahead of time through our website get the address details. The online reservation system is how our artists get paid and how we build the guest list. This also ensures that no uninvited guests or concert crashers show up unexpectedly. JazzN.ca shares the guest list with you alone before the show. Oh, and you get priority to invite your network so that your friends have first dibs! Our JazzNhouse concerts have a reputation for filling up quickly!
And how about.....
Your neighbours will not be bothered - especially if you invite them! The concerts usually end by 10:00-10:30 pm. And since performers bring their own equipment they are familiar with what their house concert audiences expect. And let's face it, jazz is usually rendered at a nice listening level.
A great idea on a wonderful, summer's afternoon -we have done a couple of backyard concerts. But here's the thing - in our neck of the woods weather is entirely unpredictable and skitters are totally predictable. As a result the band owns the risk of a last minute cancellation, and that's just not fair in our eyes..
What should we plan for?
To host a JazzNhouse concert, we ask that you consider the following:
Testimonials from JazzNhouse hosts:
"Hosting is an enjoyable way to meet new people & give back to the community. It is wonderful to have our house filled with beautiful music & happy people." Al & Shirley (Almonte)
"I love [hosting] because it supports live music in my community, jazz in particular, in a warm, intimate home setting. This is a beautiful experience for the musicians, the audience and the well being of the community in which I live. Guests listen, enjoy, mingle, share a glass, some lovely snacks, conversation and laughter. I love it. My home loves it!" Carell (Almonte)
